DES MOINES – Freshman Tempestt Wilson scored 14 points to lead Iowa Western to a 56-49 season-opening win over AIB College of Business Wednesday.

The Reivers led the entire way but didn’t put the game away until Marla Metzger hit three free throws with 1:08 remaining after getting fouled on a 3-point attempt.

Ten of the 11 IWCC players that saw action scored, although Wilson was the only one with more than six points.

The Reivers host their Tip-Off Classic this weekend. Saturday’s games will be played at Kanesville Arena, but Sunday’s contests will take place at Lewis Central High School.
