The Iowa Western Women's Basketball team finished the Tip-off Classic by winning its second game as in as many day's beating Briar Cliff University J.V. 72-54 on Sunday. The game was at a local high school while the NJCAA District Volleyball Tournament was being held at Kanesville Arena on the Iowa Western Community College Campus.
The Reivers seemed not to like the confines of Lewis Central High School shooting as season low 34 % from the field in the first half. Leading by a score of 36-26 at halftime the Reivers opened up the second have with a quick six points and never looked back. Stretching the lead to 25 points on several ocassions in the second half the Reivers settled for the 18 point victory.
The Reivers were led in scoring by Tempesst Wilson and Linda Rubene each scoring 16 points a piece. The Reivers also got a big game from Valerie Wood who came off the bench to record a double/double with 12 points and 11 rebounds. With the win the Reivers go to 3-0 on the season. The next game is Tuesday November 10, 7:00 PM at Kanesville Arena on the campus of Iowa Western Community College
